The phased, mixed-use expansion project at Scottsdale Fashion Square, a 1.9 million sq ft shopping center in Scottsdale, Arizona, features a redefinition of the luxury wing, including a new entrance, “high street” storefronts, exterior-facing buildings, and restaurants with indoor and outdoor seating options.

From the 2021 ICSC Global Design & Development Award: "Macerich’s Scottsdale Fashion Square – the historically dominant, 1.9 million square-foot retail property with six anchors and more than 200 shops and restaurants in the heart of upscale Scottsdale, Arizona – underwent a targeted redevelopment/expansion in 2017-2018 designed to elevate and redefine its luxury presentation. The clear goal: To reinforce this storied property’s stronghold among shoppers, retailers and investors as Arizona’s undisputed home for luxury for the long term and heighten already outstanding productivity.

The redevelopment relied on outstanding design to create the Luxury Wing, a new luxury enclave at the north end of the property anchored by Neiman Marcus, for the world’s best and most exclusive luxury retailers and restaurants to deliver exceptional experiences for the region’s discerning shoppers.

By every measure, the Luxury Wing that debuted at Scottsdale Fashion Square in November 2018 has been a tremendous success, attracting an enviable collection of new-to-market, pure luxury retailers and restaurants including Dior, Saint Laurent and Nobu and spurring top luxury brands already at the property – from Louis Vuitton, St. John, Jimmy Choo, Bottega Veneta and many others – to recommit, expand and renovate their stores.

After one full year of being open, in December 2019, Macerich reported year-over-year sales at Scottsdale Fashion Square reached $1,472 psf compared to $1,032 prior to the redevelopment and expansion of the Luxury Wing."
