Our Mission

At JPRA Architects, we draw inspiration from the changing landscape of retail, mixed-use, and experience-focused projects. As partners with our clients, we bring spaces to life through our personalized process and a focus on the future. Our clients count on us to design and detail exceptional buildings, and they know we will deliver outstanding construction documents. As an experienced full-service firm with a 40-year legacy, JPRA provides our clients exceptional support throughout all project phases from planning to design through construction management.

Jim Ryan - founder of JPRA Architects

James P. Ryan, AIA
1935 - 2023

Jim Ryan founded JPRA Architects in 1978 and led the firm through the early evolution of social ‘hubs’ for shopping, dining and entertainment for over 30 years. Jim retired from JPRA in 2008 as Chairman Emeritus. Jim was committed to architect education and lectured at universities on retail development and its opportunities in architectural practice. He initiated and funded a new graduate work/study fellowship program at his alma mater, Lawrence Technological University which recognized his leadership and philanthropy with the first Distinguished LTU Alumni Award in architecture in 1997.
